Review on RUICA Universal Car Door Sill Plate Protectors - 4pcs/Set, Sports Pattern, Entry Guard Sill Scuff Covers, Pedal Protector & Panel Step Guards Included by John Rodriguez

High quality fairing material, fake glue.

Although the guards themselves appear strong and attractive, the adhesive holding them seems to be of poor quality. When attaching it, I didn't notice the adhesive until I noticed the back. Instead of the usual "3M™" markings on the back, I was greeted with a repeated "MM M" symbol. Yes, "three Ms" on my left leg. During installation (four shields) I had two instances where the adhesive easily peeled off the shield. I thought it might be due to the heat and the fact that they weren't installed yet, but I already had my doubts. Also during installation the glue I was squeezing while squeezing the casing for a snug fit began to seep out from under the edges of the casing. I decided to leave him to see if he would crawl back, but so far to no avail. You will likely need to trim this adhesive to maintain a clean look and to prevent dirt from collecting. After installation, a protection partially detached. The door is on the driver's side so most (all) of the traffic went through it and I think I hit it with my boot getting in the car but it ripped the adhesive off the car and the guard. I reinstalled it as best I could, time will tell if it holds up or not. The adhesive is very stretchy so getting it back onto the back of the protector took a bit of patience and a few skillful folds of adhesive. Because of the crease required to keep the adhesive behind the guard, it started creeping out from under the crease again. In general, the quality of the guards themselves seems pretty good, but the wrong glue drags the product down. It would be nice to bump the price up a few bucks to ensure the quality of the *actual* 3M adhesive.
