I had higher hopes for this product. Looks very nice but not functional. The 3 velcro straps holding the rug in place are very flimsy. The first thing my cat did was scratch, but the rug immediately came off and got stuck in mid-air. I could only imagine my cats falling off the wall. If they lose their footing and cling to the rug for support to stay on the shelf, both the cat and the rug will fall! We will add velcro to the bottom of the rug so it attaches better to the velcro on the tree. Hope this solves the problem. In addition, one of the three shelves ordered had a missing dowel and a plastic dowel. The ziplock bag they came in was opened (during shipping I believe) and the product packaging wasn't fully sealed either. I can easily replace the dowel, but I don't know where I can buy an identical brown plastic cap. Overall I am disappointed with this product. I spent $1,300 on cat shelves for my kennel this month, various styles, and while I love the idea of the inlaid rug design, this product didn't live up to expectations.
