I have been using them in all my betta tanks since the day I knew I needed sponge filters. They are MUCH lighter on their fins and don't bother them at all! With other filters you have to worry about how strong the flow will be, but that's not a problem. They work with a regular air pump and hose so are very easy to install. I also love how the sponges just slide off so I don't have to take everything out of the tank. I can just take a sponge, squeeze it into the used aquarium water during a water change, and put it back in. We have two large 20 gallon and 55 gallon versions for extra filters/oxygen and all the snails love to crawl on and probably eat leftover food and algae. I love her.
