Review on Grease Container Storage Cooking Strainer by Mike Stevenson

The only real problem I have is that the filter element has to be sloped to allow the grease to drain. At this point the filter is flat and some grease will collect on the edges instead of running through the filter. Not a big deal, just grab it and twirl it around a bit and you'll get most of it, but it would be nice if it dropped off the sides towards the filter. I wouldn't leave it on the edge of the counter there is a tray with a container on it which can get slippery and I can see how easy it is for an accident to happen. It's pretty thin and not very durable. It does its job, it's just not industrial grade and not heavy enough not to fly away if it hits something. I've been using it for about two months now and the grip is starting to loosen up a bit. The screwdriver will re-tighten it and I might put some Loctite on the threads of the screws to prevent this from happening again. Not holding it by the handle while washing can also slow down the process. Also, this thing is pretty cool. I use it to store used peanut butter between fried potatoes. I also use a separate strainer to filter the oil, but the filter that comes with the kit will do. Using a separate screen simply keeps most large particles from clogging it, and double filters for fine particles that sometimes get through. This is a good buy. I'm very glad I have it because it allows me to use enough oil to fry french fries, chicken, wings or anything else on my stovetop in a regular pot or roasting pan without buying an expensive fryer or wasting my time must be wasted. Butter when I'm done with each cook.
