Review on πŸš— Innova 5100 Pro CarScan Code Reader/Scan Tool with Network Scanning, Live Data, and Bluetooth Connectivity by Matt Kovacevic

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Great Potential but Terrible Execution

What Huge Potential! In fact, unlike many other competing products, this is a professional tool as it has access to all the information your vehicle can provide, including its own OEM codes. Most other products such as B. Automatic, diagnoses and resets only "Check Engine" codes that occur under extreme circumstances. However, this device knows all modern vehicles and can retrieve and inform you about all diagnostic codes that appear. Basically, this tells you exactly what the dealer would find using their tools. For an example of what I'm talking about see the picture I've attached to the review. It shows the code generated by the brake monitors due to my rear brakes failing. (That's absolutely correct, by the way!) So why three stars? Terrible, terrible performance! The device is slow and the Bluetooth syncing with the iPhone app doesn't work at all. The desktop app is horrible, buggy and can't log into the repair solutions account I set up. In other words, all the fancy features you get with this expensive model are pretty much useless! I highly recommend buying this type of ODBII scanner, but either find another manufacturer with better software, or at least save some money and buy the lower-end version from Innova. I don't know what's wrong with this company, but their software contractor is complete bullshit. Their iPhone app, desktop app, and device software look like they were developed by a Chinese company in 1995. Considering their app is only 32-bit and they advertise Netscape as a compatible browser, that might not be far from the truth!

Pros
  • Dope πŸ”₯
Cons
  • Expensive
