I bought these because I was interested in trying out the magic loop method on a few different sized projects but didn't want to go with the more expensive version if I didn't like it at all. For that purpose they were excellent. I often knit in the round and always use needles. However, for some reason I became more and more annoyed that so many stitches, yarn colors and needles were moving, knitting needles regularly fell off or, even worse, the needle fell so that it fell out of the stitches. So far I have tied one. Sock with Argyle pattern on it with fingering yarn. Good: The sizes are printed on the needles. Needles through the stitches instead of pulling with the cable. Disclaimer: I've never used bamboo (I'm very fond of metal) but they were well made with no splinters or rough edges and I really liked the very pointed tip. Bad: The connection is not smooth with some needles, sometimes the movement of the stitches was annoying. The stitches caught and tangled the yarn. I used fairly cheap yarn so I didn't mind, and my sock didn't show any snags. Time with the magic loop!) Other: Lately I've been working on loosening up my knitting, I think if I went back to my old very tight ways I'd at least snap them into the smaller size I'm used to work . TLDR: Great as an inexpensive way to start knitting in the round (and the included set of knitting trinkets is a bonus). If you already love this technique and knit a lot, rough connections can break you.
