I bought these to use with wedding decor! I bought clear and blue. You must allow TIME and SPACE to expand before using them. I started with a tablespoon to see how it would work and checked every 30 minutes or so. Some people say to let them soak overnight, but mine probably fully expanded in 6-8 hours. You have to build them into a much larger container than you would expect. As for the transparency, I am attaching a couple of photos. The image with only transparent beads is exactly TRANSPARENT BEADS and nothing more. To create the illusion of floating balls (see image of large blue balls, sold separately), you will need to ADD WATER to the vase - just enough to cover as many balls as you wish to be "invisible". Note that the beads are visible at the top as they are not closed. If you wish, you can put a floating candle on it. The other pattern is a mix of blue and clear beads, giving a lighter blue effect. Someone recommended shipping them in a 5 gallon bucket and it worked. I also used a bag to carry a smaller portion. WARNING - if you drop them they will bounce and roll everywhere! BONUS - stick your hands in the bucket and play with it - they're so calming!
