The + button on the bottom can be used as a hook, but it's a bit small and it's probably best not to put as much repetitive force on it. It stays upright but can tip over if there are pets around who don't mind hitting things. There is still gas in the tube so it will burn a second after you release the button. So it takes a few extra clicks to run if it's at a lower level.
