Review on GRAVE BEFORE SHAVE Gentlemen's Blend Beard Oil (Bourbon & Sandalwood Scent) by Crystal Barnes

I love GBS. I've been using Bay Rum for many years. I recently decided to try a cigar blend too and at first I thought it was too sweet, but then I fell in love with it too. They're both very cute (one cigar more), so if that's not your thing, you might not like them. Although smelling like manly cookies is definitely my thing. Plus, my wife and (apparently) a million friends and strangers agree. "Mmmm, you smell good" is a phrase I hear all the time when using these fragrances. For real. I never got compliments on how good I smell until I started using this stuff, and it's so common now that it's almost awkward at times ("Yes. I see. I smell nice.") But bourbon is different. When I first got it, I immediately noticed that it had a cleaner, more lemony, and less sweet smell. I don't know why they call it bourbon because in my opinion it's not bourbon at all; the other two are much closer to real bourbon. It's more like the scent of a traditional men's soap. I knew I wasn't going to like it right away, but I decided to keep wearing it as an option. However, I hated him. Really a very musky aftertaste (is that a word?) that bugs me all day every time I wear it. I think it's similar to how some people think cilantro tastes like soap. Although it's a bit gross, like the body order. To my nose it smells like someone at the gym took a shower with complimentary soap and didn't wash very well. This is not good. I like a lot of scents so I usually keep them as options even if they're not bad, but I'm considering giving them up altogether. As a GBS lover, I applaud them for continuing to expand the possibilities. . If you try something new, you will have some failures. And hits aren't to everyone's taste either. I'm in the minority here, but I'll do without bourbon in the future and stick with rum and cigars.
