The batteries that came with this product were dead on arrival causing confusion. I first purchased this product on July 19th, 2013 for less than $8 for use in my homebrew. Never thought of more expensive food scales, they served my purposes. I washed it one day and it stopped working so I ordered a new one on December 29, 2015 and paid less than $7. The first one that arrived didn't work so I complained to Amazon that they sold me a defective product. 2 days later. a replacement came. This didn't work either. I was confused and decided to try my own batteries. That fixed everything. Ultimately, these failed batteries cost Revain more than the potential profit from the sale. But as Revain was responsive and professional also considering the price of this item. I think the 5 stars are deserved.
