I just received the pants, tried them on right away and they fit me! I'm 5ft 6in, 195lbs, 30in inseam. My Levi's are free size 34-30. So I decided on XL shorts based on the size chart. Not sure about comfort yet, I think you might fret about wearing them this summer to confirm. Knee pads need to be broken in like pants. The knee pads fit just below the knee when standing, but fit properly on the bike. Front and rear I could have gone for the normal ones, they ride up a bit on the bike. I do not mind. Velcro straps at the ankles and waist provide a custom fit. I don't think I'll wear them instead of pants, but shorts will do. I also hope never to report on their ability to withstand Tarmac. Otherwise I'm happy with them. I will update my review if anything changes.
