I was able to connect fast, and there was no noise on either the BT or optical lines. The quality of the sound is typical. One gets the idea that the typical computer from 10 years ago, version 2.0 Genius, sounds about the same as it does now (15W). There is not a remote control, and when I got fed up with it, I unscrewed it all the way so I could operate it from the computer.
