Review on Neumann TLM 102 Condenser Microphone by BU Jang ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I do not cease to rejoice at the purchase, a very good deal!

A great option for voice recording, streams, unpacking, reviews. A pop filter is already built into the microphone, so it does not need an additional one. The microphone has slightly cut low frequencies, so it is easier to use directly without any EQ. Very favorably emphasizes any voice. Of course, being a real Neumann with a large diaphragm, it is also suitable for recording vocals and instruments, but is inferior in this to its older brothers. If recording vocals is the main purpose of purchasing a microphone, then it is better to take Neumann TLM 103, and if you are rich, then Neumann U 87 Ai, just don’t run into a fake and don’t spend your money on a copy.

Pros
  • This is a ridiculously cheap Neumann with a large aperture. Withstands a high pressure of 144 dB and has a low noise level of 12 dB-A. Relatively small size. Yes, yes, it's convenient. This is the same "See Neumann" with which all other microphone manufacturers are compared and guided by.
Cons
  • The diaphragm is made according to a simplified (for Neumann) technology.
