Review on πŸ’§ Culligan Reverse Osmosis Filter Membrane - Optimize Water Purity by Troy Hamilton

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Consistently poor quality

When used for: Replacement filters for my Microline reverse osmosis filter This product as a solution: Terrible -- for 2 reasons: 1. The filters didn't fit my system. IT WAS MY FAULT NOT THE COMPANY! I will not leave a low rating for my mistakes, I am posting this to help other unsuspecting buyers like me. I bought my house with a filtration system pre-installed and had no idea what make, make or model it was. I spent hours looking at the pictures trying to place them when I finally found the hidden barcode for the filtration system under the sink. At that point I had already bought the filters but decided to give it a try. they didn't work. That being said, let's get to why I'm giving 1 star.2. The quality is TERRIBLE. I don't know much about filters, but when a new ceramic filter weighs less than HALF the original, it raises questions. The ceramic was insanely thin and light, so thin it cracked in transit, leaving DOA. There was no packaging as all the filters were thrown into a box with no packaging (no wonder it was torn). The diaphragm was also light and appeared to have fewer convolutions than the original, and the gasket didn't work (this worked great for my system). Obviously this is a discounted third party product but the construction and materials are so questionable that I'm not sure I would buy it even if it fitted me. However, it might work if it arrives safe and sound, and as long as you're not overly concerned about bacteria or chemicals, it's probably a half-decent way to save $30. Conclusion: A low-cost alternative due to lack of detail, lack of packaging, and inferior materials led to DOA.

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • boring packaging
