I used a straightening iron for a long time. I've always hated the sharp line next to my scalp that sometimes comes from a flat iron. I also hated how bad the flat iron was on my hair. I've always felt that the regular flat iron was too hard on my hair at the same temperature as this flat brush. A flat iron brush solved both problems! This particular flat iron brush is great. I've had my last one for about five years, so this one has plenty of room for everyday use. I straighten my hair with a flat iron and then curl the ends a bit. I could see how someone who just irons their hair can find this brush annoying because there is no way to really press the ends against the brush when it gets to the ends of the hair without burning yourself. The only thing I noticed is that the brush automatically shuts off after 30 minutes. This means it will shut down completely after 30 minutes whether you use it or not. It's a little annoying that it doesn't feel when you use it or if it stays in the same position for more than 30 minutes.
