I'll start by not knowing anything about cars. I couldn't fix anything even if I had to. With that said, I took my 2013 Mazda CX5 to the shop for scheduled maintenance. They came back and said I needed a new cabin air filter and it was $65. I thought it sounded rude. I looked at the prices for Revain and found that they range from $10 to $50 depending on the quality and duration. Ok, step 1 is done; I can buy a filter for a fraction of what the dealer wanted. Then I went to Youtube to see what changing one of them meant. It turns out to be pretty easy and requires no tools. Simply open the glove box, take out the old filter, put in the new filter and put the glove box back in place. I thought it didn't look that hard so I gave it a try. Took me literally 5 minutes from start to finish. If I can do it, anyone can. Get rid of the dealer markup and try it for yourself.
