Review on RCA DRC69705 7-Inch Dual Screen Portable DVD Player System by Larry Gaines

A decent player for the price but you really have to expect a VERY short lifespan and a lot of disc skips which really isn't worth it. I bought it after reading the bad reviews but was hoping for an exception, especially as RCA was extremely competent and durable when it came to my other electronics. The player itself is extremely compact and I liked that I could press the buttons by feel while driving. I have a front and rear facing car seat so I placed the player behind the passenger and bought a 7ft HDMI cable to adjust the screen for my youngest child behind me (rear facing). You can buy a long cable from Revain for about $5. The player itself worked relatively fine for a few months, but some discs, including brand new ones, either didn't play at all or kept skipping. Being a car, you would think that the anti-slip feature would be paramount, but that's definitely not the case. This in itself became problematic, but the final nail in the coffin was a trip to Florida (from the Northeast). While it worked on the way down, it died shortly after we started our return journey north. Not cool. Not sure if the heat fried the components somehow (I'm sure southern cars have DVD players), but it was toast and I had to buy a (more expensive) RCA from Target in Georgia to make the return trip to survive. . I'm still under warranty (and bought the extended one, which isn't activated yet because I've only had it a few months), but I still lost $120 on a new player. Much luck.
