I like this jacket. It reminds me of the North Face jacket my husband had. I think it was "bionic". It's almost like thin snorkel stuff or something. I don't know if it's waterproof, but we live in Seattle and this fall has been great so far. The other day my daughter was outside in kindergarten and it was raining. I think they were there for 30 minutes and my daughter was completely dry. I love that this jacket keeps wind and rain out while being thin and of good quality. I think the only reason this jacket is under $30 is because the brand/company selling it is not a well known brand. in other "girly" colors besides navy blue. I bought it in size 3 and 4 because I love it so much. My 3 year old wears a 4 in regular clothes like the Gap but the coat tends to run a little big. I've got it down to 3 now so I don't have to turn up my sleeves. They go right under her wrist and her hands are still free to play without having to tie her sleeves. I also love that the jacket has a little stretchy fingerless glove built into the wrist (like yoga jackets do) if she wants to tuck her thumb in, around the sleeves down and her hands a little to protect. I definitely recommend buying this. I usually buy their North Face, Columbia or other high quality, durable outdoor jackets for Seattle weather and I think this jacket compares.
