I have misplaced skirting boards and since I don't have a gun I was weighing the options between hand tacking or glue. With the first skirting board I regretted this decision, the adhesion was terrible, lasted a long time, it was dirty and very boring to press the skirting board to the wall and hold it. Secondly you do a lot of this quickly, after I finished the second pipe I nailed the rest which was quicker and cheaper. not really. When it comes to do-it-yourself work, the motto is always: risk nothing, gain nothing, book them and definitely avoid them in the future. Obviously this is a multi-purpose product, personally I wouldn't recommend it for baseboards.
