For the fastest possible performance while writing a large number of little files, format your flash devices to NTFS using blocks of 16 to 32 KB. Even a 4kb file will be recorded in a 16 or 32kb block, so bear that in mind while you take advantage of the greatly increased recording speed. While the flash drive storage will be reduced, it is still very useful for writing several little files to a large flash drive. When tested with 16kb blocks, as shown in the screenshot below, the write speed far outpaced the read speed. It will stay that way for now.
