So, I've blasted into the world of e-bikes full throttle and am having a lot of fun, but I'm still a beginner. The first problem I had to solve was where to put the battery. After a failed experiment with a product that will not stand the test of time, I finally bought a Thule Tour Rack and while I think this rack is overpriced, it does what I need. Then I ended up with this rack that could have had a battery and a set of cases. It seemed silly not to take advantage of this, so I bought a pair thinking I'd forgo the side frames. Spring. I was not. The first time I went to the grocery store to buy groceries the baskets fell into my treadmill, if I had thought about it for a second I would have predicted it. So, I'm not that smart, okay, whatever. So I looked at this product and saw the reviews saying it was flimsy and light and thought, you know, the rack shouldn't be able to support more than 20 pounds and it doesn't support that weight really own it's just that the bags didn't hit the tires it doesn't take much power so I bought it. You are perfect. They're not military grade titanium alloy, they're made of aluminum and plastic, they're strong enough to do what needs to be done. If you've already spent an insane amount of money on a tour rack (which you think is the best option for a full-suspension mountain bike rack), then spending the last twenty bucks on the side frames isn't a problem if you're going to be reusing panniers.
