Dimplex 20" Revillusion provides realistic flame projection onto a piece of plastic electric flame. When not in use and dependent of illuminating the room during the day, it can act as a mirror reflecting the light in the room.I bought black poster board and placed it behind the tree trunks to reduce glare.it did little.I also bought black window screen and placed directly on the plastic pane.This reduced the glare somewhat but also reduced the flame effect.I like the flame effect but I have to pay the price and have glare during the daytime As for the heater - don't expect much. as long as you're around.To be honest I wouldn't expect much heat from a 5000 BTU wood insert.
