Manufacturer toner, very expensive

The toner works as it should, but I can't recommend it because of the price. Because of this, I switched to a third-party toner. I understand there are some risks associated with using other brands of cartridges, but for the price I could just buy a new printer. A refurbished p1606 printer (the one I use this ink on) costs about this two pack. If a small third party company can make cartridges that sell for $12 each, I'm sure the manufacturer can fetch better prices.
