I wanted my phone to charge while on the stand for hands free use. I often forget to charge my phone and it dies when I'm not at home. BUT. Your rating of using this item should state that it is useless for charging when you have a case on your phone. I have a Samsung case because it's expensive, and with some arthritis in my hands I can easily drop it (and I have!). Without the lid it would break. To use this charger I would have to take the cover off which is impossible for my fingers. And then I have to put it on again every time. It's impractical. If I knew it wouldn't charge if the phone didn't have a case, I would NOT buy it. So you guys really screwed me.
