Honestly I'm not sure how effective these masks are without built in filters but more importantly it fits my baby. She is 4.5 years old and the one with the loops around her ears always fell off because her smaller, softer ears and/or her hair got in the way and immediately slipped off. Even with adjustable straps or if we make up a loop and tie it, they always manage to slip off because it's so small. The adjustable cable is especially helpful. It takes a bit of dexterity to get the right fit as it is too tight and leaves a line on her face and too loose and tends to slide down. But when I put it on high it works fine, stays in place and is more breathable than medical masks. Fair warning: standard masks are still worn and in some places neck gaiters are not considered "approved face masks" ie Disneyland/Disney Store. especially.
