I am using my first fryer and it is not a closed piece but an upright toaster. I don't know if that's a factor but the second time I used one of these it was a small piece of food in mid air out of the fryer that blew parchment into the heating element and caught fire so be careful! They also contain some codeine or gravy on top of the food, but since they have holes for air circulation, it's still necessary to have foil on the bottom of the device to trap some of the sediment. They are well made and go really well with my rectangular deep fryer.
