These are exactly as pictured. I've used very similar cotton scrunchies for over a year, but after using these, even those things seem to snag my hair. These are good and secure for me but they don't break my hair. They look cute, and one of the shades is quite close to my hair color, although I find I like the look of the black and ivory ones better. You can feel what seems like a regular hair tie or rubber band inside, but so far none of them have snapped on me.
