I worked for an ozone machine manufacturer in the mid 90's so I know ozone machines. This is a quality car for the money and I'm glad I bought it. There are several ways to generate ozone. In order to obtain a high ozone yield, it is best to use a corona discharge. You already know the corona discharge. It's what happens in the atmosphere during a thunderstorm that creates that sweet, unique smell that you smell outside right after a thunderstorm. This machine uses two corona plates in parallel and its performance is remarkable. I have no way of measuring the power output, but based on similarly rated devices I've tested, I expect the power rating to be accurate. The timer can run for up to two hours or can be set to run continuously, but I don't recommend setting it up for that unless you have an N95 face cover, which you have to put on to turn it off when entering or another way to isolate them current without entering the room. Ozone is nothing more than an oxygen molecule with three oxygen atoms (O3) compared to a normal oxygen molecule with only two (O2). However, that extra oxygen atom makes it very unstable and highly oxidizing, allowing ozone to kill viruses, bacteria, and remove odors. It is also very irritating to your respiratory tract and mucous membranes (e.g. eyes, nose, mouth, throat) and overexposure can be harmful to both humans and animals (so do not leave pets in a building where Ozone is used and remember to turn off the aquarium pump when using ozone). However, once the machine is turned off, the ozone dissipates quickly, making the room safe to enter after a few hours of use. If you still smell ozone upon your return, just open a window or two and it will quickly go away. A moisture meter is also helpful because the drier the air, the more efficient the machine. Turning on the air conditioner reduces the humidity in the room, but remember to turn off the air conditioner before starting the unit, or at least block the vent to draw cold air into the room you're treating. Otherwise, your AC system will spread ozone throughout the house. Even better and safer for everyone involved, turn on the AC, set the car's timer, get the kids and pets (and yes, even the mother-in-law) out of the way, and leave it for a few hours. The high-capacity intake air filter prevents dust particles from entering the unit and sticking to the fan blades or accumulating on the outlet panels, prolonging the life of the unit. But for the price I can forgive this small oversight.
