Review on GE WD18X10026 Pump Housing by Greg Wilkerson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

If your GE dishwasher is pouring water on your kitchen floor, you most likely need it!

I'm sure this silicone-like flex shell will absorb a lot of noise and keep our more expensive 8 year old GE Profile dishwasher running smoothly and quietly. But I'd trade a little rumble for something more chemical resistant. The old multi-port mud shoe became soft, sticky, and eventually died off completely. I stuck my finger right in and lay on the floor trying to figure out where the leak was coming from. Glad there is a case. The problem arose when I discovered that one of the pumps also had a similar silicone nose seal that had rotted and was NOT available as a separate component. I ended up making my own using rubber O-rings and zip ties to hold them in place. It's crazy that you have to do this. If I live a few more years without a car, the cost and time will pay off. I also had to fix the lever (the steel stiffener was separating from the plastic) so the unit entered the mortal cycle!
