I bought the Boom 2 because I need a loud portable speaker with lots of bass. Boom 2 is a good speaker. It's louder than other Bluetooth speakers I've used and has good mid-range sound. For me, the Boom 2 is loud enough for a 10x20 room. no club volume, but enough where it is clearly audible. It looks nice and was easy to set up. Some reviews complain that the battery only lasts an hour or two, I haven't used it continuously for more than an hour so I can't comment on this feature. I was disappointed with the lack of bass. Many reviews state that it is very bass-heavy, but only reproduces the mids. Good all-round speaker, but don't expect deep tones.
