My son, who has just turned 4 years old, didn't really want to part with his little bed. We let him choose a cot to ease the transition and he settled on this one. My husband put it together in about 1.5 hours and we didn't miss a thing (like some of the other reviews). There were no damaged or broken parts. He's been sleeping in it for a month now and he loves it. He jumped on it a bit but we're trying to prevent that as I'm sure it's going to break. It's sturdy and feels well made, but it probably won't handle the constant ebb and flow of a 40-pound four-year-old. I lay down with him to read from time to time too. He loves the small closet and puts books and small stuffed animals in it. Excellent purchase!
