I liked the idea of having more space for the brake pedal, but after installing it found that the usable footpeg area was significantly reduced. In the area under the brake pedal there is only room for the toe of your boot. As I climbed a little higher, I found my foot pressing lightly on the brake pedal. Moving my boot out of the brake pedal area gave me enough room to partially put my boot on the footpeg. Made for a really uncomfortable ride. While this allowed for a wider footprint on the brake pedal, the downsides outweighed this benefit for me and I reinstalled the factory pads. I wear a size 9 boot which gives me plenty of room on the footpegs with the factory overlay. Maybe with floorboards a big cushion would work better since you have more usable space to move your foot, but they don't work for me with factory pins.
