Search "Rode Video Mic Go Popping " and you won't buy this one

This mic has a design flaw that I want to know about before I buy because I would never buy it. But I learned it the hard way. The microphone does not filter the radio signal noise well. So as soon as you use the mic and get close to something that's emitting signals like Bluetooth or maybe even WiFi, you're going to have popping noises in whatever audio it's picking up at the time. This can also happen when the camcorder/camera it is mounted on emits certain signals. Find this problem and read about it. The fixes are literally tinfoil style fixes. (I'm serious, real "put tinfoil on top" fixes.) I would recommend that you avoid this product. Only if you are 100% sure it will never come near radio signals when you buy it then this would be a great little mic for you. good for filtering out the popping noise. Consider yourself forewarned.

Pros
  • Still Happy
Cons
  • Obsolete Model
