After reading many reviews about amplified light I decided on this one and was not disappointed. It is very durable and easy to adjust. Some reviewers found it difficult to roll on carpet, I don't see that as a problem. It's not a subtle addition to the room, but unlike the Ott lamps my mom has, it doesn't tip over when the light moves and it's easy to position them the way I want. I have been sewing cross stitches for many years. I don't know how I went so long without a flashlight like this. As for assembly, the instructions are some very simple illustrations with no words. Use a little common sense and you should be able to piece it together. See where all the holes are and figure out what goes where. The necessary key is included. It is not that hard.
