Review on Mackie EM-91CU: Professional USB Condenser Microphone - Unleash Your True Vocal Potential by Alejandro Anaya

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Suitable for solo recordings / classical singing lessons!

- I've looked at a lot of dynamic mics and as soon as you're 3 feet away you sound like you're in a drum. - I looked at a lot of condenser mics and they were all too sensitive and bright. .Almost every mic review has someone whispering softly into the mic and calling it singing, some useless spoken word podcasting (EQ is always added anyway) and nothing is said about what it sounds like when a real trained singer sings opera or leader / classical representative. As a vocal student you try half a dozen mics and end up with stupid money or something useless over 3 feet away. It needs an adapter but it's great. This reproduces the sound of the SM58 and honestly sounds like a dynamic mic if you speak loud enough. Sounds like nothing, nothing, useless, does it work? Then sing at full volume 5-8 feet from him and it sounds perfect. Almost no background noise, just you and the room you are in. A NOTICE. It's a reliable 4/10 mic for condenser and a reliable 5/10 mic for podcasts. Still amazing for the price when 10/10 is a $400 mic of the same scale. But for a solo voice on a budget, it's perfect. Place it at a 45 degree angle to your vocals 5-6 feet away and enjoy.
