We live in Brooklyn, NY and we want our water to be of good drinking quality without a filter. However, these filters barely lasted us a month and used maybe a gallon a day. We only use this filter for cooking and coffee/tea ie. We get 30 gallons of water from a 200 gallon filter. After a month, the filter becomes an unbearable trickle and needs to be replaced. We have another filter in the fridge and it lasts 6 months as advertised, although the water comes from the same place so it doesn't look like we have unusually bad water.
