Review on Enhance Your Workspace with the Wacom Flex Arm (ACK62803K) by Redfish Rosenhoover

I have a Wacom Cintiq Pro 32 which I really like. I'm a tall guy and an electrical engineering student. I wanted something I could use and solve huge problems and see it all in addition to the art and design I do for fun/work. Also, I'm tired of dealing with the Surface Book and other bad drawing tablets (besides their small sizes). Now I have something I can use in future computers without having to pay more for tablet hybrids. I was hoping to use this mount to add some flexibility to my workflow and allow me to use it as a cute setup monitor when I'm not using it for drawing/working. First, my desktop is about 5ft x 3ft (width x depth) and large enough to support this. I put it on, as soon as I put the weight on my hand the thing started to pull away from the back edge (the part that was pressed against the table). Of course, as an engineer, I've spent hours trying different ways to get this to work. I brought various pieces of wood and other clamps I had and tried almost everything. I couldn't figure out why no matter what I did it still wanted to climb/slip forward. That's when I discovered the problem. Main downside: the glue used to attach the cheap, thin protective rubber layer (intended to protect the table from the metal of the bracket). You are only as strong as your weakest link, in this case glue and flimsy rubber. You can see in the 2 attached pictures where it failed. It's only worth using for about an hour or two. As I rocked it and tried to figure out what was actually causing the crack/bend, the adhesive kept losing strength and this rubber started to crack and fail. It also left some nice nasty scratches on my desk. So if you plan on still buying this and using it on a desk you care about, I would take extra steps. Since it is actually the glue that dissolves and pulls back the rubber, there is no table to prevent this. Conclusion: absolutely not worth the money in any way. Again, the photos you see are taken in about an hour or two of fiddling around. If you want to mount it, get a Vesa mount adapter and buy a better mounting system that will probably cost a lot less. You've already spent money on your Wacom, don't spend more on this junk. Better yet, find a cheap bar table. I found the one you see in the picture at a thrift store for about $30 and it even folds up if I want to store it. It seems very cheap so I suspect there are cheap options for a new one. This gives you full support and you can throw in some non-slip pads or drill through a piece of wood or whatever to keep it from slipping off the front and tilt it to any angle you want.
