I am pleasantly surprised by this dehydrator. I've always wanted one. I like to dehydrate foods like strawberries, spinach, and carrots for my chinchillas. You can also have dried flowers like roses and marigolds, but I haven't done that yet. It's far better to dehydrate food yourself to ensure the food is organic and fresh with no preservatives. It's also difficult to buy a small amount of healthy dry treats for my pets. Dogs and I love jerky! It's usually expensive for them and the human species contains too much sugar for my diabetic diet. They also love jerky made from various meats, which can be inexpensive in human form but expensive in dehydrated canine form. My final plan is to make dehydrated soup mixes with meat, veggies, and herbs. I love the variety of products and items this dehydrator can be used on. The only thing I had a little trouble with was drying very different foods at the same time. It's really just a personal preference based on ease of use. Overall I like this dehydrator and I think it's worth buying.
