I've always wanted a shredder but found the noise too harsh and annoying, especially when shredding a lot of sheets. After adjusting to apartment living over the past few years, I have become more aware of my noise levels, which has influenced my opinion of the sound of electric shredders. I was glad that manual options are available because I feel it's a less annoying way to safely get rid of confidential documents without disturbing my neighbors. While others may find it uncomfortable, I find using the chopping handle comfortable. It's a bit new and weirdly funny. Also, shredding small things like receipts seems to be a more efficient way than running them through a noisy machine. I tried the card slot but not the drive. It works just like a paper slot. However, when shredding paper, it seems best to do it one at a time. It slows you down and takes time, but maybe people need more of it in their lives since everything else happens so quickly.
