Have you ever been interested in looking at the night sky or distant valleys? Here it is: This machine does it for very little money. What do you get for that $80? - the telescope itself - a tripod - 2 lenses - a handy little 'monocular' - a handy carrying case - a phone mount (which is hardly suitable for photography due to the wobbling) The optical quality of the telescope is overall excellent, a tripod could be better , but I use my Manfrotto tripod which is much better but also costs the same :) With practice it is doable. It's also great for spotting wildlife, I don't hesitate to take it with me as it weighs around 3-5 pounds and doesn't take up much space. ** Which would be better? - Automatic night sky navigation, however such devices start at $400+. observation in general. Bottom line, this device is a great starter kit to see if you enjoy observing the night sky or not. I find it quite boring after 2-3 times, but then another feature kicks in - this telescope can be used during the day, which is awesome and not boring at all! Yes, I would recommend it to a friend, especially with children.
