Review on TrackR Bravo - Bluetooth Item Tracker and Phone Finder for iOS/Android - Generation 3, Silver (1 Pack) by Brandon Plowden

Minus the replaceable battery

I bought a couple of these as gifts for the New Year. They don't work anymore. I chose it because unlike the Tile, the battery is removable. First sign of a problem: the phone app prompts me to replace the battery (about a week later). TrackR even sent me a replacement battery for free. When I opened it to change the battery, I immediately noticed that the design sucks: a small piece of plastic that flips open. No "click" when closing; kinda muddy. After replacing the battery, the phone did not connect. I eventually found out that it was because the battery wasn't making contact until you pushed the case; As soon as you let go of it, the connection will be broken. And you guessed it, the original battery wasn't dead at all. Poor design and of course you have no sign of a problem until you start using it. The plastic that holds this thing together is aging/drying out/shrinking (pocket wrenches won't help I'm sure) and the battery can't make proper contact like a $2 flashlight. Almost wasted money. They represent the fact that you can replace the battery as a key selling point. Cons: The battery lasts longer than the product.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • There's nothing here

The bitterness of poor quality lasts longer than the sweetness of low price.
