Review on 🔪 Enhance Your Coffee Experience: Introducing the Baratza Sette 270 Conical Burr Coffee Grinder by Heather Morales

My old Starbucks barista finally died so I did some research and settled on the Baratza Sette 270. The results were excellent. Very fast, no waste and very finely ground espresso. And so I had great shots every day for a year and a half (taken with my Rancilio Silvia, which I love). And then I did something stupid. Someone gave me a packet of Blue Mountain Jamaican ground coffee, which of course I should have tried, but the grind wasn't fine enough for an espresso. I decided to grind it with my Sette 270. She worked so hard that I could hear her straining to finely grind the already ground coffee. It worked, but I ended up turning the engine off. I wrote Batatze and said the engine was dead. They asked for proof of purchase and then confirmed that it has been out of warranty for more than a year since purchase. They offered to fix it for free if I sent it back to them and paid for shipping both ways. Unfortunately (luckily?) I live in the Bahamas and the shipping costs back and forth to the US are very high. I figured it would cost me $300 (almost the price of a new car). Since I was on hand with electrical repairs, I asked them to just send me a new motor and I would fix it myself. The motor arrived a few days later (they even paid for shipping) and after watching the video that was sent I literally took it in. 15 minutes to remove the old motor and install a new one. My Batatza is running and I can make great coffee again. The Blue Mountain coffee was excellent but definitely not worth burning the engine. The lesson here is don't grind coffee that is already ground. The Baratza Sette 270 is a great machine that consistently produces very fine grinds. Baratza is a great company that goes the extra mile for their customers. Your customer service is exceptional. Highly recommended machine and company.
