When I bought my first Redragon K509 keyboard, I bought the Redragon S107 keyboard and mouse at the same time. The keyboard in this S107 combo looks identical to this K509 keyboard. It even has exactly the same instructions, looks and behaves exactly the same. This K509 keyboard has proven to be good value. I found the quality good for the price. LEDs didn't have fixed colors (which is a good thing), and LEDs could be set to multiple colors, in "breathing mode" and with constant brightness. However, the light dims significantly when the brightness is set to a constant level. I could live with that. I would give this K509 model a pretty high rating but after 6 weeks the first keyboard stopped working. Windows no longer recognized the device. I tried plugging it into different USB ports but that didn't change anything. I tried using the keyboard on two other PCs and they had the same device detection issues. I thought I was just unlucky and ordered a second one, exactly the same keyboard. After 5 weeks, this second keyboard had the exact same problems. Windows no longer recognized the device. You couldn't even tell it was a keyboard. Again I tried this keyboard with different USB ports and on two other PCs. It doesn't work no matter what port or computer I plug it into. Other devices, including other keyboards, work with any of the USB ports I've tried on three different PCs. I also have a Redragon S107 keyboard which is part of the Redragon S107 keyboard and mouse combo. This keyboard still works great, looks and behaves exactly like the K509, except for the label under the keyboard. The S107 keyboard (not this KB) works great on all three computers and I'm still using it with no problems. I contacted the manufacturer and tried several times to get support for this product and they said it was a problem with the USB port and plugging into another port. I've tried this and also tried the keyboard on multiple USB ports on two other PCs. The manufacturer did not confirm that the problem was in the keyboard. I received instructions on how to remove an unrecognized device in Windows "Device Manager" and let Windows recognize the device again. It had no effect. After the problems started, every time I plugged in the keyboard, it would light up for a few seconds, the PC would make the typical "USB device connected" sound, then the light would go out. After two or three seconds, it lights up, the computer beeps again, and the light goes out. This repeated various times before the keyboard backlight eventually stayed on and appeared to be working, but none of the keys responded. When I check Windows 10 "Device Manager" I see the keyboard listed as "Unknown USB device (device handle request failed)". The device status is "Windows has stopped this device because it reported problems" (Code 43). The USB device descriptor request could not be completed." I love this keyboard. I would buy another one, but I am concerned that it could be a design or manufacturing defect that makes it more likely that the device will be removed from the PC is not recognized. I've only tried two of these keyboards so I can't be sure. But 0 out of 2 is not a score that would give me confidence to recommend this keyboard to anyone. I'm getting the exact same behavior and error on all three computers HP desktop, Dell/Alienware desktop and tablet Microsoft Surface Pro 4. My Redragon S107 keyboard/mouse combo still works fine.Instead of two Redragon K509 keyboards, I'm using an old USB keyboard. The K509 keyboard has been replaced not damaged, dropped, or misused. They connect and remain in a fixed position from that point. Do not eat or drink in ih close by as they are close to other sensitive equipment. I should have tried returning the product to Revain but it was already time for me to return or exchange the product. It's up to me However, the manufacturer has still not acknowledged the keyboard defect despite clear evidence to the contrary.
