It's just a bomb! I just read about using activated charcoal in trays to absorb odors and it works great! We have a litter box in the living room, den, and laundry room. I sometimes smell the litter box in the living room after a cat has used it, even though I use litter boxes with a door and a filter on top of the drawer. Since I started using activated charcoal in boxes I haven't felt a thing! I just sprinkled a few tablespoons into the filling box. Other people suggest making a pouch and attaching it to the side or top of the tray, but one of our cats loves to play with something like this in the tray. So we switched from Booda boxes which had a filter in the box, the cat kept breaking the plastic part in the box and pulling out the liner. Simply sprinkling the charcoal along with the litter works great and also helps keep any odors at bay in the litter geniuses (I keep one next to each tray). This big box of activated charcoal will last me for several years!
