I knew about the smell problem before buying, but many people said it just needs airing. It even came with a little card explaining they know it stinks and instructions on how to get rid of it. You should wash it with warm soapy water and let it air out for 3-5 days. We've done this whole cycle four times and by this point the snow had gotten a little better but definitely still had a strong plastic smell. I don't feel comfortable letting my 3 month old son play with this and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
