Not suitable for small aircraft.

I am a flight attendant and enjoy working on the smaller Embraer 145 with a small overhead compartment. (I've also worked with CRJ, which has containers of the same size). Both aircraft do not allow 20-inch skateboards in the cabin due to FAA regulations. I often 'stand' on these small planes (ie as a passenger) and the same rule applies to me as to passengers. I picked this bag because it's small enough to fool the flight attendants. The stewardess would look at this bag and put it on without hesitation. However, I bought it because I'm taking my laptop and an extra monitor with me. This bag is fantastic for organization. However, I did NOT stuff the bag completely and tried to see if I could lift the bag over my head on my EMB 145...I couldn't. Not without a possible overhead injury. It also doesn't fit in the trunk of the CRJ. So if I take this bag on a plane, it takes a long time to slide it under the seat and I'll be cramped. When I have seat A on the EMB, it doesn't fit under my seat at all. So that's a hit with me. Striking 2 is that I'm 5ft 6in tall. The telescopic handle, while very strong, is also a bit short for me. When I pull it, the handle hits me just under the buttocks, and when I go very fast with it, it keeps hitting my shoes and I trip. In other words, don't worry if you're over 5ft 6in or tend to walk briskly. Strike 3 was the wheel stuck on day 2. I ended up dragging it for about a minute before it came loose on its own. Outside. In the meantime, the wheel has just cut off enough that the bag makes a thud when walking. This was disappointing as the bag is otherwise very solid. This is the first bag that has done this to me so the wheels are cheap. Everything else is fine. The photo shows that it is slightly longer than my cooler. At the circumference, 175 lays on normally.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Low repairability
