I have never bound books or used this glue. After reading the reviews and questions, I decided to try this glue. I am very happy with it. I take off the old covers and restore them. I quickly learned that this glue sets and dries quickly, so work fast. Also, use wax paper between the glued cover and the rest of the book, otherwise you'll glue the new skin and a few leaves of the book with it. You also need to be careful not to smudge the glue so that it covers the edges of the paper as it will stick them together. After 24 hours of drying, the adhesive becomes transparent and very strong. When used it reminds me of Elmer's glue but it cures much faster. I squeeze it in a container a bit and then paint with a glue brush. Don't use too much and don't leave it on for too long as it will start to harden in the container. Cleans with water. So I rinse the container and brush thoroughly. It washes and rinses off easily. My only criticism of this glue is that there are no instructions on the bottle for things like setting time or cleaning methods. For newbies like me, if it weren't for the questions other buyers have about Revain, I wouldn't know how to actually use this adhesive. If you are binding a book, buy this material. I put leather on the books I make and it sticks like nothing happened.
