Review on Effortlessly Open Cans With FAVIA'S One-Touch Automatic Electric Can Opener - Safe, Smooth & BPA Free by Jeff Long

Wanted to love it but the success rate is too low

So I've tried this over weeks with lots of cans and I really want to love it still. But I cannot. The main problem is that in order to get the lid off, you just have to spend too much time. Occasionally, it just works perfectly as it should. I'd say the number of times it worked with one turn around and then lift is about 15% of the time. Another 20% of the time 2 times around and lift worked, like the video shows. But the remaining 65% of the time took at least 3 times around or a lot of moving around the can both cutting and/or prying with the "pull back and up" motion the instructions advise. So you spend a lot more time than just grabbing an old fashioned hand- crank type and using it.I'd therefore only recommend it to someone who can't operate that manual kind and then I'd say you have to be prepared to be patient. But in that case you can get it to work pretty much every time with perseverance. The instructions talk about lining it up with the guides but none of us could see any "guides".The other 80% of the time you have to keep going around trying to figure out if it cut or didn't in different areas and having it go around again. I started always just letting it do two complete circles which can take around a minute and a half. If that had been the solution to getting it to work even 80% of the time I'd probably recommend it. But even with that it still didn't allow for easy lid removal the great majority of the time.More than half the time I have to let it go around two more full circles around. And even then sometimes you have to do much more hunting around for the best place to place the can opener to allow you to do the "pull back and up" motion that removes the lid. This is the kind that makes its cut on the outside of the can. Which is fine when it works but it just doesn't often enough.Hope someone else has better luck. I had a friend and my husband trying to and none of us could ever get a better success rate.
