These lights will work with almost any programmable chip, from Arduino to Raspberry Pi. I used a photon particle as it can program it over WiFi (Internet of Things chip). I updated an old snowman decoration by ripping out the old lights and replacing them with these. It took almost 3 complete kits to complete but with the chip and power supply I have a fully custom snowman for about $85. If you're unfamiliar with programming these lights, don't worry, there are plenty of resources out there. I used the Fastled library which makes it very easy to program the effects. There are even websites with tons of examples and code to use. If you're just starting out in programming, this is a great place to start. The lights are very bright and the colors are great, but they are bigger than regular Christmas lights. Also, I found that the spacing between the bulbs is not exact. So be sure to leave a little gap when customizing your design. All in all great lights with endless possibilities.
