The Merle clamp handles large frames with ease. It has enough strength to have served well even stubborn, slightly deformed frame members. The small angled plastic feet allow the power to be distributed to the sides - it can be handy to give one angled side a little more power than the other. I used it to make some deeply trimmed window frames. Beveled corners with glued biscuit joints gave the impression that the architraves were carved from a single piece of wood. It makes sense to have one or two more terminals, for example with two right-angle screw terminals; or the famous rectangular block to ensure the end piece is perfectly square. The crank-operated supply spool isn't a problem here - I just hang everything on a hook on the wall. The arrangement of clamps and workpiece definitely takes some getting used to when the corners are simple butt joints and you are working alone. My wife held the corners on one side very well so the whole thing works without a problem. A great tool to have on hand when making mitered joints or square edge objects. Five stars because it works.
